If you would like to undertake exchange studies at the Jagiellonian University, but your home university does not have any partnership agreements with our university, then you may apply for an individual research stay.
Students / doctoral students who are not entitled to apply for the Erasmus+ programme (for example if they have already used their mobility capital) may apply for an individual research stay.
Application process
In order to apply, candidates should follow the procedure, which is described here.
After receiving a confirmation from International Students Office, candidates should create an account at https://irk.uj.edu.pl/en-gb/, choose 'Individual research stay' programme, complete the application, upload required documents and submit the application.
A successful application contains the following documents:
- Language certificate (see Language requirements below)
- Signed and stamped application form (you can download it from your account), signed by the student and by coordinator from sending University.
Important information
The duration and programme of the research stay is always agreed upon individually with the applicant on the basis of their specific needs and interests.
An individual research stay is not a scholarship programme, therefore participants will not receive any allowance from the Jagiellonian University.
In case you are planning to take part in the courses, then you might be obliged to pay a tuition fee. The tuition fee for an individual research stay is determined by the Rector on a case by case basis. Tuition fees should be transferred to the University bank account after the candidates have received a confirmation of admission from the International Students Mobility Office. The fee does not cover accommodation or board costs.
Students / PhD candidates carrying out individual research stays at the Jagiellonian University are not granted student’s status. They are treated as researchers at our institution.
